Also known as Powder Brows, is a form of semi-permanent tattooed makeup. This style can create a soft, natural tint like finish or a more defined, filled-in powdered look. The procedure is done safely with a disposable, single-needle tattoo gun. The longevity of the results varies depending on the individual client and can last 1-5 years before a touch-up is recommended. This style is suitable for clients of all skin types and ages, making it a versatile option for anyone looking to enhance their eyebrows.

  • WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR LIP BLUSH?
Lip blush is not recommended for clients who are or have any of the following: Pregnant or breastfeeding Epilepsy Diabetic or undergoing chemotherapy Viral infections or diseases Currently on Accutane (must wait 1 year) Lip fillers within the past month (please wait 1 month to book your appointment) Eczema on the area of procedure Chemical peels within the last 2 weeks Cold sores: If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing may cause outbreaks. It is your responsibility to take your prescribed anti-viral medication from your doctor a few days prior to your appointment and after your procedure to help prevent any cold sores. If you have any current outbreaks, please reschedule your appointment.
  • DO I NEED A TOUCH UP?
Touch-up is the final step of the lip blush procedure, which is done 6 weeks after your initial appointment to allow for fully healed lips. Please ensure that you have waited long enough after lip fillers, Botox, chemical peels, or laser treatments to have your touch-up done. After the healing process, your lips will lighten up to 50% from how they appear initially. Healing results can vary from person to person. Touch-ups are done to go over any pigment loss during the healing process that the lips did not retain during the initial procedure. Factors that may cause your semi-permanent tattoo to fade faster: • Iron deficiency • Sun exposure • Exfoliants • Strong immune systems • Exposure to salt water
  • DOES IT HURT?
Topical anesthetic is applied before and during the procedure to minimize any discomfort. However, sensitivity differs from person to person. Do not take any blood thinners such as (ibuprofen or aspirin) 24 hours before the procedure.
  • HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
    • Please do not workout on the day of your appointment as your body heat will expand your pores. • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and sunburns 3 days before your procedure. Skin should not be in the process of healing itself. • Do not take any blood thinners such as; aspirin, niacin, vitamin E and/or ibuprofen, omega-3 unless medically necessary; 48–72 hours prior to the procedure. (Tylenol and acetaminophen is okay) • Do not drink any alcohol or coffee 24 hours before your appointment • If you are on your period please take 2 extra strength Tylenols 30 mins before your appointment to avoid extra sensitivity and pain. • Aftercare will be provided during your appointment.
  • WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
Healing time will be approximately 7 days. Immediately after, your lips will appear bright and swollen. Swelling will subside within 24 hours. You will be asked to blot with damp cotton for the first hour to ensure any lymph is removed. You will then begin applying Aquaphor every 30 minutes. Peeling and scabbing will begin happening around day 3-4. Your lips will be very chapped. It is crucial you DO NOT pick and let it fall off naturally. Picking will result in early colour loss. Your lips will metabolize the colour which means the true colour may not appear for a few weeks. You will be given an aftercare package and instructions post treatment. You must avoid after: working out, sauna, tanning beds, facial treatments, filler, kissing, excessive sweating.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Colour retention depends on skin type, age, aftercare, sun exposure, use of certain products, pigments used, the immune system, medications, and other factors. However, generally the colour lasts about 2 years. Touch ups are recommended once every 6 months to 1 - 2 years to prevent natural fading. Colour choice is as important, and if not more important for a lip tattoo than a brow tattoo. Underlying blue, purple, or brown tones must be balanced, and in certain cases corrected, with the use of colours such as orange modifying pigments. The natural lip tone and skin tone must always be considered to achieve a colour appropriate for each client.
  • WHAT IS YOUR STERILIZATION / SANITATION PROCESS?
All needles and hand tools are single-use, come in a sterilized package, and are disposed of after each client in a sharps container. Implements such as gauze, cotton swabs, etc. are single-use and disposed of after each client. Gloves and a mask are worn at all times during the procedure and disposed of after each client. All stations are thoroughly disinfected with Cavi Wipes after each client. Reusable tools are wrapped while in use and thoroughly disinfected after.
  • DO I NEED A TOUCH UP?
Annual touch-ups are not always necessary. In order to maintain the integrity of your skin, it is best to wait as long as possible before returning for a touch-up. Skin care products that include ingredients like retinol, acids, and vitamin C will fade the pigment faster, as will sun tanning and having an iron deficiency. Ensuring that you use SPF on your brows is crucial to making your pigment last longer.
  • WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR OMBRE/NANO?
Using Accutane (must wait one year) Have heart conditions or using heart medications Diabetics Skin disease or irritations Have had Botox in the last 2 weeks Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peels in the last 2 weeks Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note. Pregnant or nursing
  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT?
For the initial session, the entire procedure will take about 2-3 hours. After consent forms and going over aftercare, I will measure, shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. I then follow with pigment colour selection based on natural hair colour, skin tone and preference. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we then begin the procedure along with pre numbing. The client is to come in for a follow up visit in 6 weeks in order to have any minor necessary touch ups.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
Healing times vary per client. It can take approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal. The eyebrow area can be slightly red, and or swollen after the procedure and the colour will appear darker. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The colour will lighten, soften and fade about 40 - 50% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the tattooed area. It is very important that you follow the after care instructions, and by doing so will give you better results. You do not need to take time off work following the procedure, but it is very crucial that you do not do any activity that causes sweating.
